What a Mitsubishi needs from its battery
The Pajero earned its place in the UAE on desert tracks, and the Lancer and Attrage fill the city streets. Both ends of the range are simple, tough cars whose batteries fail from heat more than from anything else.
Battery type and size
Mitsubishi mostly uses JIS flooded batteries. The Attrage and Mirage take NS40, the Lancer and ASX usually NS60, and the Pajero, Montero Sport and L200 generally 80D26L. Check the label, as sizes changed across generations.
Worth knowing before fitting
Some Mitsubishi engines idle unevenly for a short while after the battery has been disconnected, until the engine computer relearns. A few minutes of idling with the AC off, then on, normally settles it.
Battery brands that suit a Mitsubishi
The marked brands are the ones we reach for first on a Mitsubishi. The rest are stocked for other budgets.

Six reasons a battery dies early in the UAE
Most car batteries in the Gulf last two to three years. These are the usual culprits.
-
Summer heat
Under-bonnet temperatures speed up the chemical reactions inside the battery and evaporate electrolyte, which wears the plates out early.
-
Short trips
A school run or a drive to the mall does not give the alternator time to replace the energy used to start the engine.
-
Long parking
Cars left for weeks during summer travel slowly drain. Alarm, keyless entry and telematics keep drawing power while you are away.
-
Heavy electronics
A modern Range Rover runs dozens of control modules. An ageing battery struggles to hold the voltage they need and warnings start to appear.
-
The wrong battery type
A flooded battery fitted to a start-stop car that needs AGM will usually fail within months and can upset the charging system.
-
Charging faults
A weak alternator, loose terminal or a monitoring sensor that is not seated properly will undercharge a healthy battery until it gives up.
Mitsubishi battery questions
What battery does a Mitsubishi take?
Most Mitsubishi models we see take maintenance-free flooded / EFB batteries in sizes such as NS40, NS60, 80D26L. The exact one depends on the model, engine and year, so we confirm it from the label or the VIN before dispatch.
How long does a Mitsubishi battery replacement take?
The technician usually arrives in 20 to 35 minutes and the fitting takes about 15 to 25 minutes, including a test of the charging system.
Which battery brand is best for a Mitsubishi?
For a Mitsubishi we usually suggest Amaron, Solite, Exide. The right pick depends on whether the car has start-stop and on your budget, and we explain the difference before you decide.
Do you replace Mitsubishi batteries at night?
Yes. The mobile service runs 24 hours a day across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, including weekends and public holidays.
