Choosing a battery for the BYD G3R
The G3R ran from 2011 to 2014. Later cars in that range often have start-stop and need 12V lithium, while earlier ones use a standard battery, so the model year decides what we bring.
Compact cars use smaller batteries with less reserve, so short trips with the AC running drain them faster. The good news is that replacement is quick and the batteries are easy to stock.
What a BYD needs from its battery
Many current BYD models use a 12V lithium iron phosphate battery made for the car, not a conventional lead-acid unit. Some models and older petrol cars take an ordinary DIN battery, usually H5 or H6. It has to be confirmed from the VIN, model by model.
Where the car has a 12V lithium battery, it cannot be replaced with a lead-acid one of the same size, and a flat one is normally recovered by boosting through the jump points. Send the model and year first so the right equipment comes out.

What battery does the BYD G3R use?

How long does a G3R battery last in the UAE?
In UAE heat a car battery typically lasts two to three years. Covered parking and a longer drive each week help it reach the upper end of that range.
Can you replace my G3R battery in a basement car park?
