Choosing a battery for the Mahindra XUV500

The XUV500 has been on sale since 2011 and is a current model. Cars of this age carry a lot of electronics, and most need a maintenance-free flooded battery matched to the factory specification.

As an SUV it carries a larger battery than a small hatchback, and the AC and rear climate work hard in UAE traffic. We bring the full-capacity unit, not a smaller one that happens to fit the tray.

What a Mahindra needs from its battery

Depending on where the car was built, it may take a JIS battery such as NS40 or NS60, or a DIN size like H5. Most use a standard flooded battery. Send a photo of the label on the current battery and the technician will match it.

Terminal layout and post size are the usual catch on less common makes. A battery with the right capacity but reversed terminals will not connect without stretching the leads, which is not something to accept.
