Choosing a battery for the Kia Telluride
The Telluride has been on sale since 2019 and is a current model. Cars of this age carry a lot of electronics, and most need a maintenance-free flooded battery matched to the factory specification.
As an SUV it carries a larger battery than a small hatchback, and the AC and rear climate work hard in UAE traffic. We bring the full-capacity unit, not a smaller one that happens to fit the tray.
What a Kia needs from its battery
Most Kia saloons and crossovers take DIN batteries in H5 or H6, with H7 on the larger engines. Some older models use JIS sizes such as 80D26L. Versions with idle stop and go usually need AGM.
Newer Kias have a battery sensor clamped to the negative terminal that feeds the charging system. It is easy to damage with a careless spanner, and accessories earthed directly to the battery post go unmeasured, which confuses the charging.
