What a Jeep needs from its battery
A Jeep in the UAE usually has a few extras bolted on: a light bar, a winch, a compressor for airing up after the dunes. Each one takes its share from a battery that already has the heat to deal with.
Battery type and size
Most recent Jeeps take an AGM battery in H6 or H7, and the Grand Cherokee can take H8. Older Wranglers generally use a BCI Group 34. The size depends on engine and year, so the label is checked.
Worth knowing before fitting
Wranglers and Gladiators with engine stop-start have a small auxiliary battery beside the main one, and a fault in it can stop the car from starting even when the main battery is good. On the Grand Cherokee the battery is under the front passenger seat.
