Choosing a battery for the Infiniti Q40
The Q40 ran from 2014 to 2015. Later cars in that range often have start-stop and need maintenance-free flooded, while earlier ones use a standard battery, so the model year decides what we bring.
Saloons like this are daily commuters, and stop-and-go traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road with the AC on full is hard on a battery. A test every spring catches a weak one before it strands you.
What a Infiniti needs from its battery
Most Infiniti models take JIS batteries. The QX80 and older QX56 share the high-capacity 80D26L class with the Patrol, and the saloons and smaller crossovers usually take 55D23L. Some later models differ, so the label or VIN is checked.
After the battery has been disconnected, some Infiniti models need the one-touch windows and idle speed relearned. It takes a few minutes and should be done before the technician leaves.
