Choosing a battery for the Haval H2s

The H2s ran from 2017 to 2018. Later cars in that range often have start-stop and need EFB, while earlier ones use a standard battery, so the model year decides what we bring.

As an SUV it carries a larger battery than a small hatchback, and the AC and rear climate work hard in UAE traffic. We bring the full-capacity unit, not a smaller one that happens to fit the tray.

What a Haval needs from its battery

Most Haval petrol models take a DIN battery, usually H5 or H6, with EFB or AGM on stop/start versions. The H9 and other larger models can take H7. Hybrids use a smaller 12V battery alongside the hybrid pack.

On the hybrid Jolion and H6, a flat 12V battery stops the car from powering up even though the hybrid pack is charged. It is a 12V job only, and the high-voltage side is not touched.
