Choosing a battery for the BYD S7
The S7 ran from 2015 to 2017. Later cars in that range often have start-stop and need 12V lithium, while earlier ones use a standard battery, so the model year decides what we bring.
As an SUV it carries a larger battery than a small hatchback, and the AC and rear climate work hard in UAE traffic. We bring the full-capacity unit, not a smaller one that happens to fit the tray.
What a BYD needs from its battery
Many current BYD models use a 12V lithium iron phosphate battery made for the car, not a conventional lead-acid unit. Some models and older petrol cars take an ordinary DIN battery, usually H5 or H6. It has to be confirmed from the VIN, model by model.
Where the car has a 12V lithium battery, it cannot be replaced with a lead-acid one of the same size, and a flat one is normally recovered by boosting through the jump points. Send the model and year first so the right equipment comes out.

What battery does the BYD S7 use?
For the S7 we normally fit a 12V lithium battery. Capacity and size vary with engine and year, so we check the label on the old battery or the VIN before bringing the replacement.
How long does a S7 battery last in the UAE?
In UAE heat a car battery typically lasts two to three years. Covered parking and a longer drive each week help it reach the upper end of that range.
Can you replace my S7 battery in a basement car park?

Does the S7 need the battery registered after replacement?
