Choosing a battery for the BMW E9
The E9 was built from 1968 to 1975, before start-stop was common, so most examples run a conventional maintenance-free battery. Age matters more than mileage on these cars: cables, terminals and the alternator are worth checking at the same visit.
As an SUV it carries a larger battery than a small hatchback, and the AC and rear climate work hard in UAE traffic. We bring the full-capacity unit, not a smaller one that happens to fit the tray.
What a BMW needs from its battery
Most BMWs built in the last fifteen years take an AGM battery, usually H7 or H8, and the big saloons and SUVs can go up to H9. The exact capacity is tied to the options on the car.
A new battery has to be registered to the car, and coded as well if the capacity or type changes. Skip that and the alternator keeps charging as if the old, tired battery were still there. On most models the battery lives in the boot, on the right side under the floor.
Send a photo of the label on your current battery, or the registration card, and we will confirm the exact specification before the technician leaves.

BMW E9 battery questions
What battery does the BMW E9 use?
For the E9 we normally fit a maintenance-free flooded battery. Capacity and size vary with engine and year, so we check the label on the old battery or the VIN before bringing the replacement.
How long does a E9 battery last in the UAE?
In UAE heat a car battery typically lasts two to three years. Covered parking and a longer drive each week help it reach the upper end of that range.
Can you replace my E9 battery in a basement car park?
Yes. Our service vehicles fit standard basement height limits. Share the level and bay number and let security know a technician is coming.
Does the E9 need the battery registered after replacement?
This model does not normally need battery registration. The technician carries a diagnostic tool and checks for stored battery faults either way.
Battery trouble right now?
Send your location and car model. A technician is usually with you in 20 to 35 minutes.
No call-out surprises. You get the quote before we move.
