Choosing a battery for the Renault Austral
The Austral has been on sale since 2022 and is a current model. Cars of this age carry a lot of electronics, and most need a maintenance-free flooded battery matched to the factory specification.
As an SUV it carries a larger battery than a small hatchback, and the AC and rear climate work hard in UAE traffic. We bring the full-capacity unit, not a smaller one that happens to fit the tray.
What a Renault needs from its battery
Most Renaults take a DIN battery in H5 or H6, flooded on the simpler models and EFB where stop/start is fitted. The Koleos, which shares parts with Nissan, can differ, so the label is checked.
Some older Renault radios lock after the battery is disconnected and ask for a four-digit code. The one-touch windows may also need resetting by holding each switch at the top for a few seconds.
