Choosing a battery for the Peugeot 308S
The 308S ran from 2015 to 2018. Later cars in that range often have start-stop and need EFB, while earlier ones use a standard battery, so the model year decides what we bring.
Compact cars use smaller batteries with less reserve, so short trips with the AC running drain them faster. The good news is that replacement is quick and the batteries are easy to stock.
What a Peugeot needs from its battery
Most recent Peugeots with stop/start take an EFB or AGM battery in H5 or H6. Older models without it use a flooded battery of the same DIN footprint. The technician confirms from the label or the VIN.
When the charge is low, a Peugeot goes into economy mode and switches off the radio and other comfort functions to protect starting. After a new battery is connected, it is best to wait a minute or two before switching on, so the control units can wake up in order.
