Choosing a battery for the Panoz Roadster
The Roadster was built from 1992 to 1996, before start-stop was common, so most examples run a conventional maintenance-free battery. Age matters more than mileage on these cars: cables, terminals and the alternator are worth checking at the same visit.

What a Panoz needs from its battery
Most cars in this class take a large AGM battery in a DIN size, usually H7 or H8. A few recent models leave the factory with a lightweight 12V lithium battery. Specifications vary a lot by model, so the VIN is checked before anything is sent out.
The battery is rarely under the bonnet. It may be in the front luggage compartment, the boot or behind trim, and the lid release is often electric, so a flat battery can lock you out of the compartment that holds it. A battery conditioner is worth using on any car that sits for more than a week.
