Choosing a battery for the Jaguar XJ220
The XJ220 was built from 1991 to 1994, before start-stop was common, so most examples run a conventional maintenance-free battery. Age matters more than mileage on these cars: cables, terminals and the alternator are worth checking at the same visit.
Coupés often sit for days between drives, and that is when a battery quietly discharges. If yours is a weekend car, ask us about a maintenance charger when we fit the new battery.
What a Jaguar needs from its battery
Most modern Jaguars with stop/start take an AGM battery, usually H7 or H8. The exact rating changes with engine and year. The technician confirms it from the battery label or the VIN before setting off.
The battery monitoring system should be reset after a replacement so the car charges the new battery properly. On many saloons and the F-Type the battery is in the boot, and some stop/start models carry a small second battery that fails on its own schedule.
Send a photo of the label on your current battery, or the registration card, and we will confirm the exact specification before the technician leaves.

Jaguar XJ220 battery questions
What battery does the Jaguar XJ220 use?
For the XJ220 we normally fit a maintenance-free flooded battery. Capacity and size vary with engine and year, so we check the label on the old battery or the VIN before bringing the replacement.
How long does a XJ220 battery last in the UAE?
In UAE heat a car battery typically lasts two to three years. Covered parking and a longer drive each week help it reach the upper end of that range.
Can you replace my XJ220 battery in a basement car park?
Yes. Our service vehicles fit standard basement height limits. Share the level and bay number and let security know a technician is coming.
Does the XJ220 need the battery registered after replacement?
This model does not normally need battery registration. The technician carries a diagnostic tool and checks for stored battery faults either way.
Battery trouble right now?
Send your location and car model. A technician is usually with you in 20 to 35 minutes.
No call-out surprises. You get the quote before we move.
