Choosing a battery for the Hyundai Veracruz
The Veracruz ran from 2006 to 2015. Later cars in that range often have start-stop and need maintenance-free flooded, while earlier ones use a standard battery, so the model year decides what we bring.
As an SUV it carries a larger battery than a small hatchback, and the AC and rear climate work hard in UAE traffic. We bring the full-capacity unit, not a smaller one that happens to fit the tray.
What a Hyundai needs from its battery
Hyundai uses both DIN and JIS batteries depending on model and year. The Accent, Elantra and Tucson usually take H5 or H6, and older Santa Fe and larger models often take 80D26L. Cars with idle stop and go generally need AGM.
Some Hyundai hybrids have no separate lead-acid 12V battery. They use a 12V lithium unit built into the hybrid pack, with a 12V battery reset button near the steering wheel to wake it after it has gone flat. The VIN tells the technician which system the car has.
