Choosing a battery for the Geely GC9
The GC9 ran from 2015 to 2019. Later cars in that range often have start-stop and need EFB, while earlier ones use a standard battery, so the model year decides what we bring.
Saloons like this are daily commuters, and stop-and-go traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road with the AC on full is hard on a battery. A test every spring catches a weak one before it strands you.
What a Geely needs from its battery
Most Geely models take DIN batteries, usually H5 or H6 on the Emgrand and Coolray and H6 or H7 on the larger SUVs. Turbo models with stop/start generally need EFB or AGM. The technician checks the label or the VIN.
The newer Geelys have a battery sensor on the negative terminal and a telematics unit that stays awake for the phone app. If the car is left for a couple of weeks at the airport, expect the battery to be low on your return.

What battery does the Geely GC9 use?

How long does a GC9 battery last in the UAE?
