What a GAC needs from its battery
GAC is best known in the UAE for the GS8 and the GN8 people carrier, both popular with large families. Sliding doors, rear screens and rear AC running in the school queue add up to a steady drain.
Battery type and size
Most GAC models take a DIN battery, usually H5 or H6 on the GS3 and Empow and H6 or H7 on the GS8 and GN8. Stop/start versions generally use EFB or AGM. The label or VIN settles the size.
Worth knowing before fitting
On the people carriers, a weak battery often shows first in the electric sliding doors, which slow down or stop halfway. That is a sign to test the battery before it leaves you stuck.

Most GAC models we see take EFB / maintenance-free flooded / AGM batteries in sizes such as H5 (L2), H6 (L3), H7 (L4). The exact one depends on the model, engine and year, so we confirm it from the label or the VIN before dispatch.
How long does a GAC battery replacement take?
The technician usually arrives in 20 to 35 minutes and the fitting takes about 15 to 25 minutes, including a test of the charging system.
