Choosing a battery for the Ford SportKa
The SportKa was built from 2003 to 2008, before start-stop was common, so most examples run a conventional maintenance-free battery. Age matters more than mileage on these cars: cables, terminals and the alternator are worth checking at the same visit.
Compact cars use smaller batteries with less reserve, so short trips with the AC running drain them faster. The good news is that replacement is quick and the batteries are easy to stock.
What a Ford needs from its battery
Older Fords and many trucks use the BCI Group 65 battery. Most newer models take DIN sizes, usually H6 or H7, and EcoBoost cars with auto start-stop need AGM. The technician confirms from the label or the VIN.
Recent Fords have a battery monitoring system that tracks the age of the battery. It should be reset after a replacement, otherwise the car keeps limiting charge and switching off features as if the old battery were still fitted.
Send a photo of the label on your current battery, or the registration card, and we will confirm the exact specification before the technician leaves.

Ford SportKa battery questions
What battery does the Ford SportKa use?
For the SportKa we normally fit a maintenance-free flooded battery. Capacity and size vary with engine and year, so we check the label on the old battery or the VIN before bringing the replacement.
How long does a SportKa battery last in the UAE?
In UAE heat a car battery typically lasts two to three years. Covered parking and a longer drive each week help it reach the upper end of that range.
Can you replace my SportKa battery in a basement car park?
Yes. Our service vehicles fit standard basement height limits. Share the level and bay number and let security know a technician is coming.
Does the SportKa need the battery registered after replacement?
This model does not normally need battery registration. The technician carries a diagnostic tool and checks for stored battery faults either way.
Battery trouble right now?
Send your location and car model. A technician is usually with you in 20 to 35 minutes.
No call-out surprises. You get the quote before we move.
