Choosing a battery for the Fisker Karma
The Karma ran from 2008 to 2012. Later cars in that range often have start-stop and need AGM, while earlier ones use a standard battery, so the model year decides what we bring.
Saloons like this are daily commuters, and stop-and-go traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road with the AC on full is hard on a battery. A test every spring catches a weak one before it strands you.
What a Fisker needs from its battery
Most EVs use a compact 12V AGM or flooded auxiliary battery, smaller than the one in a petrol car because it never cranks an engine. Some newer models use a 12V lithium unit that is specific to the car. The technician confirms the type from the VIN before dispatch.
An EV with a flat 12V battery can usually be woken with a booster on the 12V terminals, but it must never be used to jump start another car. The high-voltage pack is left alone during a 12V replacement.

What battery does the Fisker Karma use?

In UAE heat a car battery typically lasts two to three years. Covered parking and a longer drive each week help it reach the upper end of that range.
