Choosing a battery for the Daihatsu Mira Cocoa
The Mira Cocoa ran from 2009 to 2018. Later cars in that range often have start-stop and need maintenance-free flooded, while earlier ones use a standard battery, so the model year decides what we bring.
Compact cars use smaller batteries with less reserve, so short trips with the AC running drain them faster. The good news is that replacement is quick and the batteries are easy to stock.
What a Daihatsu needs from its battery
Most Japanese cars take JIS batteries, from NS40 and NS60 on small cars to 55D23L and 80D26L on saloons and SUVs. Standard flooded batteries are the norm. Models with idle stop usually need an EFB, and some hybrids use a small AGM auxiliary battery.
JIS batteries come with two terminal post sizes, and the small cars use the thinner one. The L or R at the end of the code is the terminal layout, so a battery that looks identical can still have leads that will not reach.
Send a photo of the label on your current battery, or the registration card, and we will confirm the exact specification before the technician leaves.

Daihatsu Mira Cocoa battery questions
What battery does the Daihatsu Mira Cocoa use?
For the Mira Cocoa we normally fit a maintenance-free flooded battery. Capacity and size vary with engine and year, so we check the label on the old battery or the VIN before bringing the replacement.
How long does a Mira Cocoa battery last in the UAE?
In UAE heat a car battery typically lasts two to three years. Covered parking and a longer drive each week help it reach the upper end of that range.
Can you replace my Mira Cocoa battery in a basement car park?
Yes. Our service vehicles fit standard basement height limits. Share the level and bay number and let security know a technician is coming.
Does the Mira Cocoa need the battery registered after replacement?
This model does not normally need battery registration. The technician carries a diagnostic tool and checks for stored battery faults either way.
Battery trouble right now?
Send your location and car model. A technician is usually with you in 20 to 35 minutes.
No call-out surprises. You get the quote before we move.
