Choosing a battery for the BMW M8
The M8 has been on sale since 2019 and is a current model. Cars of this age carry a lot of electronics, and most need a AGM battery matched to the factory specification.

What a BMW needs from its battery
Most BMWs built in the last fifteen years take an AGM battery, usually H7 or H8, and the big saloons and SUVs can go up to H9. The exact capacity is tied to the options on the car.
A new battery has to be registered to the car, and coded as well if the capacity or type changes. Skip that and the alternator keeps charging as if the old, tired battery were still there. On most models the battery lives in the boot, on the right side under the floor.
